Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or graduation from an accredited school of medical technology; equivalent pathways include qualifying military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or prior HHS examination qualification at the Medical Technologist level (pre-2/28/92 per 42 CFR 493.1491) — all meeting CLIA High Complexity testing criteria
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility; or 1 year of acute care experience combined with a Master's degree
- Certification required with an approved agency — ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS — must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- State licensure as required by Tennessee
- Non-U.S.-trained candidates must complete an equivalency evaluation through ECE, NACES, or AICE within 30 days of hire
- Demonstrated competency in advanced instrument troubleshooting, quality control, and regulatory compliance (CAP, TJC, AABB)
