- Responsible for full-cycle front-office workflow: patient intake, demographics collection, insurance verification, referral processing, appointment confirmation, and supply ordering
- Charge entry and patient balance processing with daily reconciliation of charges and payments
- Medical records management including review, copying, and accuracy verification
- Direct interface with patients, physicians, and clinical staff — a high-visibility, relationship-driven role within the practice
- EMR platforms in use include NextGen and/or Athena
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Five years of experience in a physician practice setting preferred
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program preferred
- Healthcare management or administration certification preferred
- EMR/EHR experience required; NextGen or Athena experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in a Windows environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet-based tools required
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and adaptably within a complex, matrixed healthcare organization
