<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Full-time, rotating schedule position within the dietary department</li> <li>Prepares food for cafeteria service, patient tray service, and other assigned department areas</li> <li>Operates as grill cook in the cafeteria as needed, in addition to general production cooking</li> <li>Follows standardized recipes for all menu items including salads and desserts</li> <li>Checks patient trays for temperature accuracy and content correctness prior to delivery</li> <li>Monitors food temperatures at multiple points throughout the day to ensure safety compliance</li> <li>Adheres to HACCP standards, Baptist Health System (BHS) safety and sanitation protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal food service regulations</li> <li>Demonstrates proficiency across all kitchen equipment and applies proper sanitation practices to daily operations</li> <li>Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities</li> <li>Part of a system encompassing six full-service hospitals, a dedicated pediatric hospital with a pediatric emergency unit, a cancer care network, fitness and rehabilitation centers, imaging centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li> <li>Minimum one year of cooking experience in a restaurant or healthcare food service environment</li> <li>Required certification: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler certification, ANSI Accredited Food Manager course completion, or Certified Food Manager credential from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District</li> <li>Ability to assess food quality through color perception and taste</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with coworkers and supervisors</li> </ul>
