Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Technician II (Housekeeping Associate II) to support cleanliness and infection control across high-acuity clinical areas including the Emergency Department, ICU, GI Lab, Wound Care, and procedure rooms. Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, rotating-shift schedule across a busy acute care hospital campus
  • Assigned coverage spans high-acuity and high-traffic areas: Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, GI Lab, Wound Care, procedure rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, and public hallways
  • Performs terminal cleaning of isolation rooms and exam rooms in compliance with established infection control and isolation protocols
  • Responsible for trash and linen removal using compactor and cardboard baler; distributes linen throughout the facility
  • Routine duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and glass areas
  • Moves furniture and heavy equipment as directed; maintains assigned equipment and reports repair needs for equipment, furniture, fixtures, and building infrastructure
  • Operates within a system of six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and ambulatory services
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities and cross-training to support flexible staffing assignments
  • Works within a faith-inspired, patient-centered culture with a 120-plus-year history of community healthcare service in San Antonio

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of cleaning experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting, including demonstrated terminal cleaning experience
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English (minimum education requirement)
  • High school diploma, GED, or two years of full-time environmental services work experience accepted in lieu of formal education (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of infection control practices, isolation techniques, and safe chemical and equipment handling
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented clinical environment, meeting deadlines and following supervisor direction
  • Familiarity with facility safety policies, proper use of safety equipment, and protocols for reporting unsafe conditions
