Practice Highlights
- Respiratory care coverage across all hospital units, including the Emergency Department and ICU
- Scope includes oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilator setup and maintenance, emergency airway procedures, and full respiratory treatment modalities
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and arterial puncture procedures for all age groups
- EKG procedures as part of the respiratory therapist's clinical responsibilities
- Complete clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and departmental policies; direct reporting of patient status changes and diagnostic results to the treating physician and appropriate personnel
- Service lines on campus include obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology (cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology capabilities), cancer care, neuroscience (Brainlab technology and stroke treatment), and bariatric/weight loss surgery

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory care required
- Completion of clinical rotation required at minimum; prior ER and ICU critical care experience strongly aligned with role expectations
- NBRC Registry (RRT credential) required — must be obtained within 3 months of employment if not already held at time of hire
- Current CPR certification required — must be obtained within 3 months of employment if not already held
- Active Texas Department of Health licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required (or eligibility to obtain)
- Demonstrated skills in routine respiratory therapy, ER and ICU critical care, airway management, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation across all patient age groups
