About the Community

Modesto sits in California's Central Valley, offering a lower cost of living relative to the Bay Area while remaining within roughly 90 minutes of San Francisco, Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevada foothills. The region provides year-round access to outdoor recreation — from Yosemite National Park and the Stanislaus River to the wine country of the nearby Lodi and Livermore appellations — alongside a diverse, family-oriented community with strong school options and a well-established healthcare economy. For clinicians seeking California's professional opportunities without the Bay Area price tag, Modesto delivers a compelling balance of career and lifestyle.
