Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona is recruiting an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician II (MLT II) to join its hospital laboratory team. Practice Highlights

  • Full-spectrum specimen processing and testing across all laboratory disciplines
  • Advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Eligible to perform high-complexity testing meeting CLIA regulatory standards (42 CFR 493.1489)
  • Acts as a senior resource and subject-matter expert for other laboratory personnel
  • Extended responsibilities available in billing and inventory management, equipment selection, validation, and implementation
  • Document control duties including standard operating procedure (SOP) management
  • Training and competency assessment responsibilities for laboratory staff
  • Participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Hospital services include a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Carondelet Neurological Institute, Carondelet Joint Replacement Center, cardiology, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and labor and delivery

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience; graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technology or equivalent program required
  • Minimum two years of experience as a medical laboratory technician
  • Current registration with an approved certifying agency: ASCP, NCA, AMT, or equivalent
  • State licensure as required by Arizona law
  • Education and credentials must satisfy CLIA high-complexity testing criteria (42 CFR 493.1489, January 24, 2003)
