Practice Highlights
- Full-time nights schedule on a Medical-Surgical unit within an acute care hospital
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
- Oversight and supervision of delegated care staff on the unit level
- Medication administration in accordance with hospital policy — safely and within established timelines
- Practice governed by standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
- Accountability to the CNO for quality, safety, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource utilization
- Active role in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a mission-driven health system with deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley community since the early 1920s
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Texas RN licensure or eligibility to obtain
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred
