Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution preferred
- Minimum one year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
- Phlebotomy certification required where mandated by state law; national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT, or equivalent preferred
- Basic laboratory computer and lab information system experience preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of pre-analytical variables affecting specimen integrity
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume clinical setting
