About the Community
Knoxville sits at the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, offering an exceptional quality of life defined by outdoor recreation, a vibrant university culture anchored by the University of Tennessee, and a low cost of living relative to comparable metro areas. The city combines the amenities of a mid-sized urban center — professional sports, a thriving restaurant and arts scene, strong public and private schools — with easy access to mountain hiking, whitewater, and lake recreation. Tennessee's absence of a state income tax adds a tangible financial benefit for physicians relocating from higher-tax states.
