Practice Highlights

  • Lead-level position with direct supervisory and management responsibility over anesthesia technician personnel
  • Provides input for and completes annual staff performance evaluations for the anesthesia tech team
  • Anticipates and prepares the operating room with appropriate anesthesia equipment and supplies for each procedure, including setup and calibration of monitoring devices
  • Assists anesthesiologists and the broader surgical team with patient care and patient transportation
  • Performs cleaning, repair, and routine preventive maintenance on anesthesia and monitoring equipment to ensure continuous proper functioning
  • Orders, maintains, and catalogs anesthesia supplies and equipment inventory
  • Participates in new product and equipment evaluations, contributing to departmental decision-making
  • Active participant in Performance Improvement activities and serves as a role model for service excellence
  • Part of a large integrated health system including six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, fitness and rehabilitation centers, imaging centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an anesthesia technician in an acute care or ambulatory surgery environment required; 2 years preferred
  • Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire if not already held
  • Anesthesia Technician certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage anesthesia technician staff
  • Proficiency with setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance of anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment
