Practice Highlights
- Telemetry unit within a full-service acute care medical center serving the Rio Grande Valley region
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assigned patient panels
- Accountable for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
- Medication administration in accordance with hospital policy, with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Care delivery aligned with established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control — with a goal of optimum patient discharge outcomes
- Supervisory responsibility for staff to whom appropriate care is delegated
- Supports CNO-level priorities: high-quality, safe nursing care; clinical staff competency; and appropriate resource management
- Active role in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergency and disaster events

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PALS and/or NRP as required by corporate policy for the telemetry unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred
- Familiarity with emergency code protocols and HICS responsibilities in an acute care setting
