Practice Highlights
- Full-time nights schedule on an active inpatient nursing unit with continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring
- Responsible for telemetry setup per physician orders, including proper electrode placement, running rhythm strips, and battery replacement
- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms in real time, escalating findings to nursing staff as appropriate
- Performs general unit clerical duties: preparing, compiling, and maintaining patient chart records; answering telephones; recording and relaying messages
- Prepares routine, confidential, and special reports, documents, and records; assists with quality improvement activities
- Maintains current and orderly chart files in a high-volume inpatient environment
- Works within a multidisciplinary team across service lines including cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, cancer care, neuroscience, and weight loss surgery
- Cardiology infrastructure includes a cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology capabilities on site
- Neuroscience service line features Brainlab technology and stroke treatment protocols
- Operates with limited supervision — requires independent judgment and professional accountability
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of an EKG course required prior to or at time of hire
- Familiarity with medical terminology required
- Demonstrated computer experience required
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision in a fast-paced inpatient unit
