Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required
- No minimum experience required; two or more years in acute care preferred, with prior clinical experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU strongly valued
- Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (American Red Cross or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (required for Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, and Interim Critical Care units); completion before end of orientation period is strongly encouraged
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days for PICU roles; AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 60 days for NICU roles
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification for NICU/Level 2 Nursery roles: proof of prior completion or must be obtained within 6 months of hire (renewal not required)
