Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required at time of hire
- No prior experience required; two or more years in acute care preferred, with specific preference for med/surg, telemetry, or ICU background
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the telemetry role, and ideally before the end of the orientation period
- Additional certifications required for unit-specific transfers: AHA PALS within 60 days for Pediatric ICU; AHA NRP within 60 days for NICU; S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU/Level 2 Nursery within 6 months of hire (one-time completion, no renewal required)
