Practice Highlights
- Prepares and dispenses medications upon receipt of inpatient prescriptions
- Enters and verifies medication orders in the pharmacy computer system to establish and maintain patient drug regimens
- Performs final pharmacist check on all medications dispensed from the pharmacy
- Manages pharmaceutical purchasing and maintains par-level stocking of the pharmacy and ancillary departments throughout the facility
- Serves as a direct drug information resource for nursing staff and communicates with physicians to support coordinated patient care
- Oversees the preparation and dispensing workflow, including aseptic technique for sterile compounding
Qualifications
- Minimum education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharm) required
