<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Full patient registration at date of service: demographic capture, legal form execution (Advance Directives, Conditions of Service, Consent for Treatment, Important Message from Medicare, EMTALA), and PHI scanning</li> <li>Insurance verification, benefits and eligibility confirmation, and authorization procurement for both scheduled and unscheduled hospital services</li> <li>Medical necessity checks and verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards</li> <li>Point-of-service and post-service patient liability collection using compliant negotiation techniques; hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry per financial control policies</li> <li>Inpatient visit notification to payors and coordination of post-discharge care as needed</li> <li>Scheduling support for diagnostic procedures: data entry in scheduling system, patient appointment instruction, and related tasks</li> <li>Required proficiency in at least two Patient Access service areas, including the Emergency Department</li> <li>Collaborative relationship management with internal clinical teams and external clients (physician offices, insurers, patients/guarantors)</li> <li>Interpretation of physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance documentation within a high-volume hospital administration environment</li> <li>Potential exposure to life-threatening patient conditions in care locations; occasional wheelchair assistance for patients with mobility needs</li> </ul>
