Practice Highlights
- Full-time, day-shift schedule at a 123-bed acute care hospital with a broad inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service footprint
- Supervisory authority over technical staff in the Clinical Laboratory — including hiring input, performance management, and disciplinary recommendations
- Accountable for accreditation compliance across CAP, TJC, AABB, or equivalent regulatory bodies
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining Quality Control records, Preventive Maintenance logs, and procedure manuals on a documented schedule
- Hands-on role: performs laboratory testing, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational duties alongside supervisory responsibilities
- Reviews quality control data and patient results to ensure accuracy and service level agreement compliance
- Operates within a facility offering advanced minimally invasive joint and spine surgery, robotic surgery, award-winning heart care programs, and a Level II Special Care Nursery — supporting a clinically diverse patient population
- Reports directly to the Director of Laboratory Services with latitude for independent judgment in day-to-day operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care setting
- Clinical Laboratory supervisory experience preferred
- Certification by an approved agency required: ASCP, NCA, AMT, or equivalent
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required
