Practice Highlights
- Shift Supervisor role within the MS ICU, providing clinical oversight and leadership across the full shift
- Serves as unit patient flow coordinator — managing admissions, discharges, and transfers in real time
- Coordinates next-shift staffing in collaboration with the Director, Clinical Manager, Coordinator, and/or House Officer
- Functions as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for bedside staff throughout the shift
- Provides supervisory input into staff evaluations and performance reviews
- Part of the departmental leadership team — a direct pathway for nurses seeking to grow into formal management

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or a related advanced degree preferred
- Minimum one year of experience in an equivalent unit required; four or more years preferred
- Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required
- National Specialty Certification preferred
- Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required depending on department assignment — see applicable Staff RN job description for grace periods
