Practice Highlights

  • Clinical Supervisor role in the Emergency Department of a 288-bed acute care hospital serving York County and the surrounding region
  • Works in direct collaboration with the ED Director to ensure continuous safe unit operations across all shifts
  • Responsible for shift-level staffing, assignment preparation, and real-time delegation as census and acuity fluctuate
  • Leads crisis response with confidence — delegates appropriately and maintains unit stability during emergencies and unpredicted situations
  • Drives unit-based quality monitoring: develops and implements performance improvement (PI) monitors and reports
  • Supports ongoing staff education by identifying learning needs and facilitating development of nursing personnel
  • Oversees shift duties including chart checks, defibrillator and refrigerator logs, abnormal lab follow-up and documentation, room cleaning and stocking, supply expiration checks, and environmental management
  • Facility services include preventive care, advanced heart and stroke care, maternity care, and a Level III NICU
  • System also includes Piedmont Medical Center – Fort Mill (opened 2022, 100 beds), featuring a 24/7 ED, ICU, Medical/Surgical Unit, Surgical Services, and Women's Services
  • Leapfrog Group "A" Hospital Safety Score recipient; Certified Zero Harm Award from the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA) in collaboration with DHEC
  • Cardiac Care program designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by BlueCross BlueShield and a Nationally Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Program by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from state of residence required; RNs holding a Compact state license from another state must obtain a Multi-State RN License from their state of residence within 30 days of hire
  • American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required; must be obtained within 7 days of hire
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required within orientation period
  • Additional unit-specific certifications as determined by the department, required within orientation period
  • 2–3 years of acute care or comparable clinical experience with demonstrated leadership ability preferred
