Practice Highlights

  • Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • On-call required after hours, on weekends, and holidays per rotation; must be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes of alert
  • Performs scrub, monitor, and circulator roles across all invasive cath lab procedures
  • Circulates and monitors all diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including Structural Heart procedures
  • Department provides dedicated training for Structural Heart scrubbing — an active pathway to expand clinical scope
  • Administers intraprocedural and emergency cardiac medications, including conscious sedation
  • Executes fluoroscopic imaging for desired views including abdominal aortogram and runoff; manages image storage and printing
  • Assists with setup, insertion, and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers
  • Functions on all cardiac alerts and STEMI cases; IABP setup and monitoring required
  • Hospital has operated as a dedicated heart and vascular center since 1998, utilizing advanced equipment and evidence-based, research-driven treatment protocols

Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in Arizona (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a Cath Lab or Cardiac Intervention Lab required
  • Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Radiology or equivalent preferred
  • Basic EKG course completion required
  • BLS certification required at time of hire; ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Preferred: 1 year of cardiac cath and radiology care experience
  • Preferred: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
  • Knowledge of IABP setup and monitoring; ability to function independently on cardiac alerts and STEMI activations
