About the Community
Modesto sits in California's Central Valley, offering a lower cost of living relative to the Bay Area — roughly 90 miles to the east — while remaining within comfortable driving distance of San Francisco, Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevada foothills. The region provides year-round access to outdoor recreation including Yosemite National Park, Lake Don Pedro, and the Stanislaus River, alongside a growing arts and dining scene, well-regarded public and private schools, and a strong sense of community rooted in the Valley's agricultural heritage.
