Practice Highlights

  • Delivers BLS and ALS emergency care at the scene of accidents and medical emergencies, and during transport to Piedmont Medical Center facilities
  • Operates in accordance with York County EMS requirements and department protocols to optimize system-wide EMS response
  • Operates specially equipped emergency vehicles requiring proficiency with a wide range of technology and software platforms
  • Responsible for timely, accurate documentation and multi-tasking across all phases of patient care
  • Participates in prospective, concurrent, and retrospective quality review processes — contributing to a culture of continuous clinical improvement
  • Serves a regional catchment spanning York County and surrounding communities
  • Piedmont Medical Center Rock Hill: 288-bed acute care facility with advanced cardiac and stroke care, maternity services, and a Level III NICU
  • Piedmont Medical Center Fort Mill (opened 2022): 100-bed facility featuring a 24/7 Emergency Department, ICU, Medical/Surgical Unit, Surgical Services, and Women's Services

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Active South Carolina Paramedic certification required at time of hire
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification required within one year of employment
  • AHA BLS certification required; must be obtained within 7 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS certification required within the orientation period
  • PALS or PEPP certification required within the orientation period
  • NIMS Incident Command compliance required within orientation period: ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, and IS-800
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Minimum two years of full-time experience as a 911 EMS provider preferred
