Practice Highlights

  • Neuro Med-Surg unit serving a diverse regional patient population across the Rio Grande Valley
  • Direct clinical patient care with per-shift accountability for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care plans
  • Responsibility for safe, timely medication administration in accordance with hospital policy
  • Coordination and integration of patient care using the full nursing process within the prescribed medical regimen
  • Practice standards aligned with safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
  • Supervision and delegation responsibilities for supporting staff on the unit
  • Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergency and disaster situations
  • Accountable to CNO-level standards for nursing care quality, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource utilization
  • Part of a hospital system with deep community roots — serving the health and spiritual needs of the Rio Grande Valley since the early 1920s

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current Texas RN licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications required if applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
  • Recent acute care experience preferred; new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
