Practice Highlights
- Performs basic through complex diagnostic radiographic procedures ordered by licensed physicians
- Patient population spans all age groups — newborn through elderly — requiring adaptable, age-appropriate technique
- Rotation through advanced diagnostic radiology areas including the OR, urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, and interventional placements
- Trauma imaging support as part of the regular scope of practice
- Assists practitioners with fluoroscopy, arthrography, OR procedures, and trauma cases
- Produces high-quality diagnostic radiographs under minimal supervision, exercising independent professional judgment
- Competency validation completed within the designated introductory period
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program required; Associate degree preferred
- ARRT certification required, or registry-eligible candidates considered — ARRT must be obtained within one year of graduation
- Active Texas state radiologic technologist license if required by current state regulation
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- One to three years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates meeting certification requirements are eligible to apply
- Comfort with the full spectrum of community-hospital radiology acuity, including trauma and fluoroscopy-assisted procedures
