The Hospitals of Providence – Sierra Campus in El Paso, Texas is recruiting a full-time Certified Instrument Technician (Sterile Processing Technician) to join its central sterile processing department. This is a rotate-shift position embedded within a multi-hospital health system that has served the El Paso community since 1902 and includes a dedicated children's hospital. The role sits at the operational core of surgical services, directly supporting OR and interventional procedure teams with accurate, complete, and sterile instrumentation every case.

Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, rotate-shift schedule supporting active surgical and interventional procedure services

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training, OR a minimum of one year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician
  • Preferred: one year of sterile processing technician experience combined with completion of a formal sterile processing course
  • Certification through IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) required — must be obtained within 18 months of hire
  • Current IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification preferred at time of application
