- Coordination responsibilities include specialist referrals, diagnostic appointment scheduling, and insurance pre-certification for surgeries and ordered tests
- Front-office support functions: phone coverage, patient check-out, and referral processing as needed
- Instrument cleaning, sterilization, and storage per practice protocols; daily room stocking and medical supply inventory management
- Full compliance with HIPAA, PPE requirements, and infection control standards in an orthopedic office setting
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program required — or three years of relevant healthcare work experience accepted in lieu of a diploma; current MA certification also satisfies the requirement
- MA diploma plus at least one year of relevant clinical experience is strongly preferred
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of hire
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Proof of vaccination or an approved religious or medical exemption (with enrollment in regular testing) required per applicable federal, state, or local law
