Practice Highlights

- Direct clinical patient care role with per-shift accountability for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
- Responsible for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process

- Supervision and delegation responsibilities for appropriate support staff on unit
- Accountable to CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management
- Active participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Texas RN licensure or eligibility to obtain
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required per unit policy
- ENPC or PALS certification required per unit policy
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required
- Recent acute care experience preferred; emergency department experience a strong asset
