JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, California is recruiting an experienced critical care RN to serve as Clinical Coordinator (Patient Care Coordinator) in its ICU. Practice Highlights

  • ICU-based role at a 145-bed acute-care hospital with 24/7 emergency services, cardiovascular services, orthopedic and joint replacement, maternity and pediatric care, ambulatory surgery, imaging, and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Provides independent bedside care for critically ill patients across all acuity levels, including ventilator management and titration of vasoactive medications in the context of dysrhythmias and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
  • Serves as the designated ICU Rapid Response Team member, assuming a leadership role in emergent patient deterioration events across the hospital
  • Assists and mentors bedside staff on procedures commonly performed in critical care; actively develops critical thinking skills in nursing colleagues
  • Assumes daily unit operations leadership as assigned, including staffing management to meet both patient care needs and budget targets
  • Participates in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of ICU staff; supervises and formally evaluates staff performance
  • Ensures availability of necessary equipment and supplies at all times
  • Develops and implements performance improvement projects with a focus on measurable patient outcome improvements
  • Practices and models professional autonomy, encouraging independent clinical decision-making among nursing staff
  • Night shift: 1900–0730, six 12-hour shifts per two-week pay period

Qualifications

  • Active California RN license required
  • Demonstrated mastery of nursing skills and knowledge at the RN III level
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum of 5 years of critical care nursing experience preferred
  • Prior experience or demonstrated competency in nursing leadership and unit management preferred
  • Proficiency with ventilator management, vasoactive medication titration, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring expected
  • Ability to assist with and mentor staff on bedside critical care procedures
