Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital — Southern Arizona's longest continually operating hospital, founded in 1880 — is recruiting an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join its team in Tucson, AZ. St. Mary's is a recognized destination hospital for advanced stroke care, emergency care, minimally invasive heart and vascular surgery, and bariatric surgery, anchored by the Carondelet Heart & Vascular Institute. This is a direct-employment RN position in a high-acuity ED environment with a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 for eligible candidates.

- Additional service lines include bariatric surgery and wound care, contributing to a diverse inpatient referral and ED volume
- RN serves as primary care coordinator across all disciplines, managing care plans from initial assessment through discharge planning
- Nursing practice structured around the full nursing process: systematic assessment (initial, re-assessment, focused), problem identification, care planning, implementation, and continuous evaluation
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment with delegation, supervision, and prioritization responsibilities for the bedside RN
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of RN experience required
- Active Arizona RN license required, or compact state license with the ability to obtain Arizona licensure within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred; additional department-specific certifications may apply
- Continuing education requirements as defined within the CARE program
