Practice Highlights
- Full-time day-shift RT role within a six-hospital acute care system that also includes a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit
- Performs comprehensive cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, medication administration, and respiratory treatments per established policies and under Medical Director oversight
- Responds to emergency situations across the facility, including code and rapid-response events
- Performs quality control on all respiratory care equipment, including i-STAT point-of-care blood gas analyzers
- Prepares electronic documentation of all services rendered and provides written and verbal handoff reports to oncoming staff
- Addresses patient population-specific needs across adult, pediatric, and — where applicable — neonatal (NICU) care settings
- Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) state license required
- Current CRT or RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); renewal required every five years (grandfathered exemption applies to those certified prior to July 1, 2002)
- Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire
- AHA ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
- AHA PALS certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering pediatric patients
- AHA NRP certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer if covering NICU
- Some prior experience in respiratory care or a related clinical area preferred
