Doctors Medical Center of Modesto is recruiting a full-time Director of Behavioral Health (Director of Patient Care Services) to lead inpatient psychiatric services at a 67-bed behavioral health unit embedded within a 394-bed regional acute care hospital in Modesto, California. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and the Behavioral Health Center Administrator, this is a 24/7 accountable leadership role with broad authority over staffing, fiscal management, quality, and clinical operations across inpatient psychiatry and intake. - Operates within a comprehensive service-line hospital offering cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, emergency and trauma, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, women's and children's services, oncology, and critical/intensive care — supporting strong interdisciplinary consultation
- Active quality and efficiency improvement mandate with a focus on fostering a supportive, collaborative environment for physicians, staff, and patients
- Part of the Central Valley Doctors Health System, providing institutional infrastructure and regional referral depth
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent with a focus in psychiatric or mental health nursing from an NLN-accredited program; equivalent education and experience in the care of the mentally ill considered
- Minimum five years of nursing management experience, specifically within psychiatric nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California, or eligibility to obtain
- Demonstrated competency in staffing management, fiscal oversight, and clinical quality leadership within a behavioral health setting
