This is a fully remote Patient Account Representative role based out of Frisco, TX, supporting a large national healthcare revenue cycle operation with clients across more than 135 local regions. Practice Highlights
- Fully remote position; work-from-home with structured daily productivity and quality standards set by leadership
- Manages the full revenue cycle lifecycle — from patient access (authorization, admissions) through billing, insurance appeals, and collections
- Works accounts across Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid payer types, including government and non-government disputed balances
- Conducts follow-up on claim submissions and remittance reviews; initiates corrected bills, secondary billing, and re-bills as needed based on contract and coding review
- Accesses payer websites directly to discern pertinent data; updates plan IDs, adjusts demographic and insurance information, and documents all account activity in detail
- Identifies and escalates payer trends, payment delays, and aged account issues to supervisors in a timely manner to prevent A/R aging
- Utilizes proprietary hospital systems including ACE, VI Web, IMaCS, and OnDemand alongside Microsoft Office tools
- Participates in team meetings, training seminars, and in-service sessions to maintain and grow job knowledge
- Supports team members during absences or backlog periods; collaborates closely with management on special projects and findings
- Ensures compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations governing Managed Care and third-party payers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in business administration or accounting preferred
- 1–4 years of medical claims and/or hospital collections experience
- Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process end-to-end, including patient access, billing, insurance appeals, and collections
- Working knowledge of Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid collections; intermediate knowledge of Managed Care contracts, contract language, and government payer requirements
- Familiarity with HMO, PPO, IPA, and Capitation payer structures and claims processing; intermediate understanding of EOB, UB04 hospital billing forms, and HCFA 1500 forms
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); ability to learn hospital-specific systems (ACE, VI Web, IMaCS, OnDemand) quickly
- Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and follow through independently with minimal supervision
