Practice Highlights

  • Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective intraoperative care across a wide variety of surgical procedures
  • Scrub responsibilities include organizing instrumentation, operating surgical equipment, and participating in surgical counts
  • Selects and prepares appropriate supplies and equipment for each surgical case prior to incision

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology — required
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) — required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist — preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to function professionally across a broad range of surgical specialties and case types
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and health screening, including drug screen, required prior to start
