Practice Highlights

  • Direct clinical nursing care in the Endoscopy unit — assessment, planning, and implementation of care on a per-shift and unit level
  • Responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
  • Supervision and delegation of care to appropriate support staff within the unit
  • Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
  • Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care; clinical staff competency; and appropriate resource management
  • Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergency and disaster situations

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing — required
  • Current, active Massachusetts RN license (or eligibility to obtain) — required
  • Current CPR certification — required
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing — preferred
  • Familiarity with hospital emergency codes, HICS structure, and associated policies and procedures
