Practice Highlights
- Step Down unit providing progressive care for medically complex patients requiring closer monitoring than a general med-surg floor
- Direct clinical care role with per-shift accountability for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation using the full nursing process
- Supervisory responsibility for staff to whom appropriate care is delegated
- Accountable to the CNO for quality, safety, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management
- Practice standards governed by established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols

Qualifications
- Graduate of a state-approved or accredited school of nursing required; bachelor's or master's degree in nursing preferred
- Active Massachusetts RN license required (or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice)
- Current CPR certification required
- Comfort with progressive/step down acuity, including coordination of complex care plans within a prescribed medical regimen
- Familiarity with HICS roles and hospital emergency code protocols preferred
