  • Interpretation of physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards in accordance with established standards of care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred
  • 0–1 year of customer service experience required
  • 0–1 year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related healthcare setting preferred
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC, CRT terminal, and printer operation
  • Working knowledge of third-party payer requirements and healthcare compliance standards preferred
  • Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance documentation
  • Must be available to work variable hours and days based on departmental and system demand
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional wheelchair assistance for patients with mobility needs
  • Confirmation of required vaccinations and screenings (including COVID-19 and influenza) required prior to start of employment, as applicable and permitted by law
