<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>221-bed acute care and teaching hospital with a full-service surgical program spanning cardiology, emergency surgery, family medicine, and additional specialty service lines</li> <li>Primary scrub role: manages instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout intraoperative cases across designated surgical procedures</li> <li>Maintains sterile field vigilance continuously from room setup through case close</li> <li>Utilizes individualized Physician Preference Cards to prepare and execute each case to surgeon specification</li> <li>Coordinates directly with the circulating nurse to monitor case progress, patient safety, and supply/equipment readiness in real time</li> <li>Responsible for conducting, documenting, and reconciling sponge, instrument, and needle counts per protocol</li> <li>Operates and documents use of electrosurgical units, lasers, and specialty surgical equipment in compliance with safety standards</li> <li>Handles and labels surgical specimens per chain-of-custody requirements</li> <li>Participates in departmental performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives</li> <li>Teaching hospital affiliation provides exposure to a diverse case mix and an environment that supports ongoing professional development</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required — completion of a formal accredited surgical technology education program</li> <li>Current CPR certification required</li> <li>Minimum one (1) year of experience in operative procedures, surgical instrumentation, and OR equipment</li> <li>Two (2) or more years of hospital surgical experience preferred</li> <li>Working knowledge of surgical scrub technique, sterile field principles, and medical/surgical terminology</li> <li>Proficient basic computer skills; strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills</li> </ul>
