- Coordinator oversees full daily operations of the physician office: front desk supervision, patient and physician scheduling, appointment confirmation, and supply ordering
- Responsible for charge entry, patient balance processing, and daily reconciliation of charges and payments — direct involvement in revenue cycle integrity
- Medical records management including copying, reviewing, and ensuring accuracy of documentation
- Insurance verification and referral processing for a specialty orthopedic and spine caseload
- EMR environment utilizing NextGen or Athena (experience with either preferred)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum five years of experience in a physician practice setting preferred
- Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program preferred
- Healthcare management or administration certification preferred
- EMR/EHR experience required; NextGen or Athena platform experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in a Windows environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet-based tools required
- Demonstrated ability to work with flexibility and adaptability in a complex, matrixed healthcare organization
