<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred</li> <li>Zero to one year of customer service experience; zero to one year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related field preferred</li> <li>Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency with PC, CRT terminal, and printer operation</li> <li>Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards accurately</li> <li>Understanding of third-party payer requirements and healthcare compliance standards preferred</li> <li>Knowledge of hospital departmental functions and inter-departmental relationships preferred</li> <li>Proficiency with compliant patient liability negotiation and collection techniques</li> <li>Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional wheelchair assistance for patients with mobility needs</li> <li>Confirmation of all required vaccinations and screenings (including influenza and any future required vaccines) prior to start of employment, as applicable and permitted by law</li> </ul>
