Practice Highlights
- Brand-new free-standing emergency department serving Indian Land, SC and surrounding communities — 24/7 emergency care in a newly constructed, modern facility
- Weekend overnight shift: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Performs laboratory analysis across multiple disciplines including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and other clinical subsections
- Performs phlebotomy and processes specimens for both in-house and reference laboratory testing, including proper preservation and packaging for biological specimen transport
- Verifies critical lab values through repeat analysis and specimen recollection protocols
- Operates under general supervision of section supervisors and/or lead techs; participates in training of new employees and students
- Participates in departmental and interdepartmental performance improvement (PI) activities
- Adheres to regulatory standards including Joint Commission, CAP, and AABB guidelines
- Follows infection control best practices in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
- Parent campus — Piedmont Medical Center Rock Hill — is a 288-bed acute care facility with advanced cardiac, stroke, maternity, and Level III NICU services; Fort Mill campus (opened 2022) is a 100-bed hospital with ED, ICU, Med/Surg, Surgical Services, and Women's Services

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology; equivalents accepted per 42 CFR 493.1489 (military training) or 42 CFR 493.1491 (HHS examination prior to 2/28/92)
- Registered or registry-eligible through an approved certifying agency — ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS — with full registration required within 12 months of hire
- Non-US trained personnel must complete equivalency evaluation through ECE, NACES, or AICE within 30 days of hire
- Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience as a medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist in an acute care setting
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, pipetting, and dilution techniques across patient populations including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
