<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Fixed overnight shift (5p–5a) Wednesday through Saturday at the Clements Ferry campus in Mount Pleasant, SC</li> <li>Full patient registration at date of service: demographic collection, legal form execution (Advance Directives, Conditions of Service, Consent for Treatment, Important Message from Medicare, EMTALA), and PHI scanning</li> <li>Insurance verification, benefits confirmation, coverage and eligibility checks, and prior authorization for both scheduled and unscheduled hospital services</li> <li>Medical necessity verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) standards</li> <li>Patient financial liability education and compliant point-of-service, pre-service, and post-service collections; hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry</li> <li>Inpatient visit notification to payors and coordination of post-discharge care as needed</li> <li>Scheduling support for diagnostic procedures: data entry into scheduling system, patient appointment instructions, and related tasks</li> <li>Required to perform duties competently in at least two Patient Access service areas, including the Emergency Department</li> <li>Collaborative interface with physician offices, clinical staff, and external payer contacts to resolve registration and authorization issues</li> <li>Hospital administration environment with potential exposure to high patient volumes and acute/life-threatening patient conditions</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred</li> <li>0–1 year of customer service experience; 0–1 year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related field preferred</li> <li>Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency with PC, CRT terminal, and printer operation</li> <li>Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards accurately</li> <li>Working knowledge of third-party payer requirements and healthcare compliance standards preferred</li> <li>Ability to perform essential duties across at least two Patient Access service areas, including the Emergency Department</li> <li>Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional wheelchair assistance for patients with mobility needs</li> </ul>
