<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Fixed Wednesday–Saturday, 5:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. shift — no rotating schedule uncertainty</li> <li>Performs full patient registration at date of service, including pre-admission, admission, reception, and discharge functions</li> <li>Collects and verifies complete patient demographic information and scans Protected Health Information (PHI) per compliance standards</li> <li>Secures and explains all required legal and consent forms: Advance Directives, Conditions of Service, Consent for Treatment, Important Message from Medicare, and EMTALA documentation</li> <li>Conducts insurance verification, benefits confirmation, coverage and eligibility checks, and obtains prior authorizations for both scheduled and unscheduled hospital services</li> <li>Performs medical necessity checks and verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements</li> <li>Executes compliant patient liability collection before, during, and after date of service; performs hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry</li> <li>Assists with scheduling diagnostic procedures, providing appointment instructions, and coordinating post-discharge care</li> <li>Provides inpatient visit notification to payors and manages assigned registration financial clearance work lists</li> <li>Must be proficient and deployable in at least two Patient Access service areas, including the Emergency Department</li> <li>Works within a fast-paced hospital administration environment with potential exposure to high patient volumes and acute care settings</li> <li>Interprets physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards in accordance with established standards of care</li> <li>Builds collaborative relationships with internal departments and external clients to drive communication accuracy and productivity</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred</li> <li>0–1 year of customer service experience required</li> <li>0–1 year of administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance environment, or related field preferred</li> <li>Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute</li> <li>Demonstrated working knowledge of PC, CRT terminal, and printer operation</li> <li>Understanding of third-party payor requirements and healthcare compliance standards preferred</li> <li>Knowledge of hospital department functions and interdepartmental relationships preferred</li> <li>Ability to interpret physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance documentation</li> <li>Must be available to work hours and days as needed based on departmental and system demands</li> <li>Must meet all required pre-employment vaccination and health screening requirements as applicable and permitted by law, which may include COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations</li> </ul>
