<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Bedside patient interviews conducted across hospital units, including the Emergency Department and broad campus settings at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center</li> <li>Screens self-pay patients for eligibility across a full spectrum of programs: Medicaid, Medicare, state and county government programs, auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, and third-party liability (TPL)</li> <li>Completes and obtains Confidential Financial Statement forms; guides patients through the benefits application process from initiation to resolution</li> <li>Manages follow-up on EES-assigned accounts to ensure government program applications are processed through to eligibility determination</li> <li>Performs financial clearance functions including collections; prepares accounts for Financial Assistance review when patient cooperation is not obtained</li> <li>Conducts field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and document assistance — some travel required</li> <li>Communicates case screening determinations and outcomes verbally and in writing to hospital case management, social services, and admissions staff</li> <li>Works across multiple facilities and hospital platforms simultaneously, requiring strong prioritization and multi-tasking capability</li> <li>Hybrid work environment: both hospital bedside and office settings with direct patient and staff contact</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hospital admitting, social services, payer relations, hospital business office, or a directly related area</li> <li>Working familiarity with Federal, State, and County program rules and regulations governing patient financial assistance and government benefits</li> <li>Proficiency in PC systems including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to conduct sensitive patient and family interviews with clarity and professionalism</li> <li>Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts, facilities, and supervisory relationships concurrently</li> <li>Bilingual in Spanish preferred</li> <li>Ability to walk through hospital environments, visit patients at bedside, and travel for field visits as required</li> </ul>
