Delray Medical Center, a 536-bed acute care hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center in Delray Beach, Florida, is seeking a full-time Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to join its operating room team. This is a days-shift position embedded in a high-acuity surgical environment that spans advanced cardiac and vascular, orthopedics, neurosciences, trauma, and bariatric surgery service lines. Practice Highlights

  • Full-time days schedule in a high-volume operating room at a Level I Trauma Center
  • Intraoperative first-assist duties: exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other technical functions performed under direct surgeon supervision
  • Pre-operative and post-operative patient care responsibilities to support continuity across the surgical episode
  • Active participation in OR team collaboration for efficient room setup and timely turnover
  • Maintenance of sterile field and preparation of equipment for decontamination
  • Surgical service lines include advanced cardiac and vascular, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency/trauma, and bariatric (weight-loss) surgery

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) — required
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
  • Post-secondary vocational or specialized surgical technology training
  • Previous operating room experience preferred
