Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona is recruiting a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for its Cardiac unit — a direct support role working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and LPNs to deliver hands-on, relationship-based patient care. St. Joseph's is a full-service acute care hospital established in 1961, home to a Level I Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the Carondelet Neurological Institute, and the Carondelet Joint Replacement Center, with dedicated cardiology and orthopedics service lines. Practice Highlights

  • Cardiac unit placement within a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center hospital — high-acuity, multi-specialty environment
  • Works within a Relationship-Based Care model, with an emphasis on intentional, patient-centered interactions and culturally competent care
  • Performs vital signs measurement, pulse oximetry, intake and output monitoring, and multi-method weight measurement (standing, sling, bed, and chair scales)
  • Provides full activities-of-daily-living (ADL) support: hygiene, mobility assistance, oral and denture care, bathing, and feeding
  • Applies and manages anti-embolism stockings, sequential compression devices (SCDs), and Buck's traction (following initial RN/PT application)
  • Conducts skin integrity monitoring and implements SKIN bundle care protocols under RN/LPN direction
  • Performs structured patient rounding per unit-specific guidelines; prepares rooms for new admissions and responds to patient requests in a timely manner
  • Works in a secure department with controlled access to medication storage areas
  • Supported by a multidisciplinary team across cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, stroke, emergency medicine, and labor and delivery service lines

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a PCT training program, CNA training program, or equivalent clinical training required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Minimum one (1) year of patient care experience required
  • Current CNA licensure preferred
  • Prior hospital or healthcare setting experience preferred; familiarity with hospital environment is a plus
