The ED operates alongside an ICU, a medical/surgical unit, and a dedicated labor and delivery suite, giving ER nurses immediate access to a full inpatient support structure.

- Multidisciplinary care model; RNs collaborate directly with physicians, intensivists, and women's health specialists on campus
- Core nursing responsibilities include initiating and documenting individualized care plans, performing age-specific patient interventions, managing medication and IV therapy per protocol, and providing emergency treatment as situations arise
- Order verification duties include medication reconciliation, procedure scheduling, pre-op data review, and consent form management
- First-dose medication monitoring and adverse reaction recognition are standard expectations of the role
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required at minimum
- Monitor experience or completion of a formal EKG course required
- Valid Permanent Multi-State RN License from state of residence required; nurses holding a Compact state license from another state must obtain a Multi-State RN License from their state of residence within 30 days of hire
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR required; must be obtained within 7 days of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS and PALS, CPI certification, and NIHSS required — all must be completed within the orientation period
- One year of acute care, critical care, or emergency department experience preferred
- Emergency nursing certifications preferred: ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
