Practice Highlights
- Overnight shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM; availability required on days and hours as driven by departmental and system needs
- Supervisory authority over direct reports at the Rep, PA I–IV levels across Patient Access functions
- Scope covers all Registration Process areas: Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and on- and off-site clinic locations
- Responsible for daily monitoring of activity and completion of performance and metric reports, including financial clearance reports
- Leads mentoring, training, and onboarding of new hires as well as ongoing development of existing Patient Access staff
- Manages escalated patient access and customer service issues in real time
- Participates in short- and long-range planning recommendations for all Registration Process areas
- Enforces and assists in developing departmental policies, procedures, and work rules in alignment with hospital and corporate guidelines
- Performs all Patient Access functions hands-on as operational needs require
- Functions as an active member of the management team with shared accountability for meeting operational goals
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, disciplinary action, and complaint resolution
- Special projects and ad hoc reporting assigned as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2- or 4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related healthcare environment
- 5 or more years of Patient Access experience strongly preferred
- 2 or more years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
- Clear understanding of Revenue Cycle Management principles and applicable Regulatory Agency requirements
- Thorough working knowledge of healthcare information systems and computer applications
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills
- Must be available to work hours and days as needed based on departmental and system demands, including on-call coverage
