Practice Highlights
- Full dispensing scope: frame selection assistance, facial measurements, fitting adjustments, frame repairs, soldering, edging, mounting, and final delivery
- Prescription interpretation and verification against original lab orders to ensure accuracy before patient delivery
- Patient interviews to assess visual needs and counseling on proper eyeglass care and maintenance
- Computerized prescription and sales data entry; all clerical functions required to complete the patient encounter
- Vision benefit verification and billing across VSP, EyeMed, Superior Vision, March Vision, and Envolve platforms
- Daily frame and accessory inventory management
- Written and verbal communication with optical lab for order tracking and quality control
- Customer service and floor coordination duties as part of the daily workflow
- Acts as liaison between optical and pertinent clinical departments to meet patient needs
- Travel to various clinic locations within the network as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience and working knowledge as a dispensing optician required
- Familiarity with vision benefit plan billing: VSP, EyeMed, Superior Vision, March Vision, and Envolve
- Ability and willingness to travel to multiple clinic locations within the service area
- Competency in the full dispensing workflow including edging, mounting, soldering, and frame repair
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills to resolve concerns to patient satisfaction
