Practice Highlights
- Position sits within the Valley Heart Institute, reporting to the Practice Manager with clinical oversight from an on-site Clinical Manager
- Performs a full range of standard, specialty, and complex adult and geriatric transthoracic echocardiograms and vascular sonographic examinations independently
- Applies non-ionizing high-frequency ultrasonic waves for cardiac and vascular diagnosis across all Echo/Vascular modalities
- Demonstrates anatomy directly for cardiologist interpretation and intervention — close, daily physician collaboration
- Exercises independent clinical judgment in complex and non-routine imaging scenarios
- 394-bed general acute care hospital with an additional 67-bed inpatient psychiatric unit — the largest full-care facility in the region between Stockton and Fresno and from the Sierras to the Bay Area
- Comprehensive service lines on campus: cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, emergency and trauma, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, women's and children's services, oncology, behavioral health, and critical/intensive care
- Part of the Central Valley Doctors Health System, providing a broad referral base and diverse patient population
Qualifications
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) credential required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Echocardiography/Vascular Sonographer performing adult and geriatric echocardiograms across all Echo/Vascular modalities
- Completion of a formal echocardiographic training program or an accredited ultrasound program required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Demonstrated ability to receive and execute instructions verbally, in writing, and electronically with accuracy
